With the ‘KlimaBauer‘ (Climate Farmers) initiative, Andechser Molkerei Scheitz has launched a unique project that makes a direct contribution to both preventing the release and binding of CO2 in the region. To this end, the company supports and accompanies its "ClimateFarmers" in corresponding measures, for example in the area of humus formation and biodiversity, and supports the work by paying ten euros for every tonne of CO2 that is saved or avoided.
Managing Director Barbara Scheitz presented the project at a press event in Andechs last Friday, 23 July 2021. She was accompanied by Prof. Dr Dr Urs Niggli from the Institute for Sustainable Food and Agricultural Systems "agroecology.science", which is providing scientific support for the project, Richard Mergner, State Director of BUND Naturschutz in Bayern e. V., and organic farmer and ‘Climate Farmer‘ Georg Scheitz.
